The people behind Potzo
Built for
ourselves.
We made Potzo because we needed it. Now we're opening it up.
Hasan.
Hasan has been using this kind of setup for over two years, syncing his Amex spending to his Monzo pot. It worked, but it wasn't polished — and he was the only one using it. He wanted to make it into something cleaner and more reliable, so others could use a credit card with the safety of a debit card.
hasankarakus.com ↗Akif.
Akif built the engine. A software engineer with over a decade of experience, he turned what was a personal script into something robust enough to trust with real money. He uses it too.
akif.kr ↗What it does
Every time a transaction clears on your credit card, Potzo moves the same amount from your Monzo current account into a pot. When your bill arrives, the money is already there. Your Monzo balance always reflects what you can actually spend.
How it connects
Potzo reads your credit card transactions via Open Banking. We never see your login credentials or card numbers. Connections are handled by Yapily — authorised and regulated by the FCA — using the same infrastructure that powers major UK banking apps.
What it costs
Free during beta. No payment details required at any point. If pricing ever changes, we'll tell you clearly before anything happens — no surprise charges, no dark patterns.
This isn't a startup chasing funding or trying to scale fast. It's just something we made to help ourselves — and now we're opening it to others.
